Project Amour Eric and Chandra's Journey to Get Married in Paris

C’est le Voyage

It's the Journey

Recently I was reminded of an old cliche, "It's not the destination, it's the journey".  Although I have heard this old saying many times in my life this was the first time it really made me stop and think.  At 36 years old, I am well beyond the average age for a first marriage.  Yet, I find myself completely content with where I am today and how I got here.  I spent the majority of my 20's living alone, traveling a lot and discovering who I am as a person.  When my 30's rolled around I focused on creating a more permanent life (purchase of my first home) and building upon the career I had wisely chosen in my mid-20's.  Today, I find myself in my mid-30's, elated and totally blessed to just now be planning the wedding of my dreams.  It was the journey, my steps through life that brought me to this event and I can't wait to celebrate!  While the fun, carefree and sometimes lonely journey of being a single woman is drawing to a close,  I have already started dreaming of what my next journey will hold.  In the meantime, I have a wedding to plan.

When I  started to plan for the "BIG DAY" I quickly began to realize that my wedding was simply going to be a few short minutes out of what I hope to be a long, happy life.  Yet, all of my energy is focused on that one event, that one day, that special moment in time when I can say "I Do" to my very best friend.  I created "Project Amour" as a blog to capture and share not just the events of my special day but also the journey that leads me to that special place (Paris), on that special day (TBD), wearing that special dress I have waited 36 years to find.

Tomorrow my sister Renee and I will be flying off to Paris  France to begin the official planning of my wedding.  PARIS, the city of lights, the city for lovers, my dream!

Check back often as I document the journey of Eric and I and everything we do in preparation for just the beginning of our lives, together!
