Paris, nous voilà!
Paris, here we come!
After weeks of anticipation our day of departure has finally arrived. In just a few short hours Renee and I will be touching down at Charles de Gualle airport in Paris. Over the last few months I have been working to find the perfect wedding planner for our event. I have chosen Fete in France as our planning agency and will be working with Nancy LaTarte over the next several months to make certain our event is all that we want it to be. Fete in France specializes in helping couples living in America get married in Paris. They have an extensive list of amazing venues and vendors they recommend to help make your day perfect. Nancy has been a delight to work with and I cannot wait to meet her in person! See you in Paris!
En route pour Paris!
Paris Bound!
Raleigh has been experiencing drought conditions. So it was no coincidence of bad luck that around 6am this morning it started raining and storming. Thankfully the storm was quick to pass and shouldn't cause to many troubles getting the ladies up and out of here to NYC and then over to Paris for a crazy weekend of planning and site seeing.
Here is a quick picture at the airport of Renee and Chandra as they jet out of the car and off to Paris!
C’est le Voyage
It's the Journey
Recently I was reminded of an old cliche, "It's not the destination, it's the journey". Although I have heard this old saying many times in my life this was the first time it really made me stop and think. At 36 years old, I am well beyond the average age for a first marriage. Yet, I find myself completely content with where I am today and how I got here. I spent the majority of my 20's living alone, traveling a lot and discovering who I am as a person. When my 30's rolled around I focused on creating a more permanent life (purchase of my first home) and building upon the career I had wisely chosen in my mid-20's. Today, I find myself in my mid-30's, elated and totally blessed to just now be planning the wedding of my dreams. It was the journey, my steps through life that brought me to this event and I can't wait to celebrate! While the fun, carefree and sometimes lonely journey of being a single woman is drawing to a close, I have already started dreaming of what my next journey will hold. In the meantime, I have a wedding to plan.
When I started to plan for the "BIG DAY" I quickly began to realize that my wedding was simply going to be a few short minutes out of what I hope to be a long, happy life. Yet, all of my energy is focused on that one event, that one day, that special moment in time when I can say "I Do" to my very best friend. I created "Project Amour" as a blog to capture and share not just the events of my special day but also the journey that leads me to that special place (Paris), on that special day (TBD), wearing that special dress I have waited 36 years to find.
Tomorrow my sister Renee and I will be flying off to Paris France to begin the official planning of my wedding. PARIS, the city of lights, the city for lovers, my dream!
Check back often as I document the journey of Eric and I and everything we do in preparation for just the beginning of our lives, together!
